Hades is kind and understanding to those he cares for, and is a gentleman in comparasion to the rowdy and lewd behavior his brothers exhibit. Eventually, however, Hades begins to believe he deserves better, telling Minthe he wants to feel happy and safe everyday. After meeting Persephone, Hades continues to believe she is too good for someone like him, citing his own heavy baggage. In the present day, Hades remains isolated, with few true friends and a belief that he deserves the toxic relationship he is stuck in. Despite being assured by his brother Zeus that becoming the King of the Underworld would not affect his relationships, after taking control of the realm Hades was frequently isolated from others, leading to misconceptions about him. Nyx tells him that she "had never seen a child with so many worries," a personality trait that, combined with the trauma from being consumed by Kronos, led to an adult Hades with low self-esteem. In reality, Hades is polite, sensitive, and often melancholy, having not chosen the Underworld for himself. Hades' reputation paints him as a dark ruler, with mortals fearing him so terribly they refuse to call him by name, instead referring to him by his aliases. His skin also becomes a much darker blue and manifests "stars." In his titan form, he appears as his true form but his hair also becomes dark blue and long, and his hands become clawed. In his true form, the outline of Hades' eyes, his pupils, and his eyebrows change from black to a glowing light blue. He wears a short chiton with blue fabric draped over his arm and crystal clasps on the shoulders and sandals, and a black pointed crown. In his human form, he has brown skin, amber eyes (which turn red when alert), and long, creamy-white colored hair. In the Mortal Realm, Hades wears long Greek robes in dark blue and gray. For outerwear, Hades frequently wears a black pea coat. His sleepwear ranges from an Underworld Con '96 sweatshirt with black sweatpants to just a pair of boxers. While in the Underworld, Hades usually wears formal attire consisting of black business suits, slacks, and a white button-up dress shirt with a sable tie. He has a muscular physique and trails of white scars crisscross his upper body. When infuriated his sclera turn dark red. His eyes are black, and are often illustrated with different colored irises depending on his mood (most frequently red). He has azure skin and ivory white and blue toned hair. He wears his hair short, but in the Mortal Realm it becomes longer. Fortunately, with such a massive fan base there are talented artists on hand who have taken it upon themselves to re-envision some of the Disney villains as good guys.Hades is very tall with broad shoulders and a sharp, long nose. Were they born that way, or did something happen to them that made them hate the world or the hero so much? If something about their past had been different, could they have been one of the good guys?ĭisney is no stranger to gifting viewers with detailed, multi-layered villains, and if anything, it makes us wonder all the more how these characters became so jaded.
